Karen Buchanan aka Fior Saoirse arrived on Ts’msyen Territory of Kaien Island in 2010, and it is here where she has been sharing, connecting, and learning ever since. She is a performance artist with a theatre background who believes that art and performance allow for transformative learning opportunities, a creative release and are useful tools to engage in deeper conversations about important contemporary issues. Karen founded Brilliant Experience, a performance art company bringing together concepts from theatre, dance, props, circus and sorcery to create exciting and memorable experiences. And in her Lighting the Fire: Sparking Change Workshops she encourages an exploration in nature, where participants learn about sacred fire elements and explore how to use them to create a magical space to enhance the power of storytelling.
