Ariane Custodio is an interdisciplinary artist living on the unceeded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), sc̓əwaθən məsteyəxʷ (Tsawwassen), and qʼʷa:n̓ƛʼən̓ (Kwantlen) Nations. She has trained in hip-hop with Angela Lowndes, Marc Generoso, and Christopher Martin, and has had fruitful experiences exploring Dancehall with Alyssa Amarshi and Venom. Believing that everything exists in relation, her passion lies in sharing dance with community and helping folks access the arts as a tool for healing, connection, communication/expression, play, growth, and learning/exploration. She carries these values in her work as an expressive arts therapist, and as a member Her Tribal Roots, an interdisciplinary collective of dancers, poets, and musicians committed to exploring and fostering harmonious ways of being in relation with one another and the land.
