Geneviève Johnson travaille depuis 1995 comme comédienne, danseuse et chorégraphe à Montréal avec, entre autres, Larry Tremblay, Martine Beaulne, Estelle Clareton, Eric Jean, Pigeons International, Trans-Théâtre; à Nanaimo avec Nicole Mion, Jennifer McLeish-Lewis, Robert Seatton. Geneviève a complété un doctorat en 2008 à l'UQAM autour des principes du métissage incarné dans sa pratique du butô et de la poésie pour établir de nouvelles façons de créer, de performer et de s'entraîner. Depuis 1999, elle crée, interprète, anime des ateliers, en utilisant son vocabulaire gestuel de poésie en mouvement – Paysage Sous La Peau. Depuis 2006, elle a collaboré avec la danseuse/chorégraphe Holly Bright sur de nombreuses performances. En 2018, elle a dansé dans leur dernière collaboration The Sun and The Moon à Nanaimo et Vancouver, avec Nicola Jackson. Profondément intéressée par la création de films de danse poétiques, Geneviève est présentement inscrite en Digital Media Studies à VIU. Instructrice certifiée en Pilates depuis 2003, elle enseigne à Nanaimo.

Geneviève Johnson has worked since 1995 as an actor, dancer and choreographer in Montreal with Larry Tremblay, Martine Beaulne, Estelle Clareton, Eric Jean, Pigeons International, Trans-Théâtre, among others; in Nanaimo with Nicole Mion, Jennifer McLeish-Lewis, Robert Seatton. Geneviève completed a doctorate in 2008 at UQAM around the principles of métissage embodied in her butoh and poetry practice to establish new ways of creating, performing and training. Since 1999, she has been creating, performing and leading workshops using her gestural vocabulary of poetry in movement - Paysage Sous La Peau. Since 2006, she has collaborated with dancer/choreographer Holly Bright on numerous performances. In 2018, she danced in their latest collaboration The Sun and The Moon in Nanaimo and Vancouver with Nicola Jackson. Deeply interested in creating poetic dance films, Genevieve is currently enrolled in Digital Media Studies at VIU. A certified Pilates instructor since 2003, she teaches in Nanaimo.
