Jessie Sijie Zhang was born in Fuzhou Fujian China. She began her dance journey learning Chinese Folk dance at the age of 3. When she was 15 years old, she moved to Victoria, Canada as an international student, and was introduced to various styles of choreography and dance styles in her high school dance program and local dance studios. After high school, she moved to Vancouver to further pursuit her dance training, and has completed programs including ITP, Trek and first year of the SFU dance program. She has competed at prestigious competitions like VIBE and BodyRock, with both TwoFourSeven Co, and Northside. She is currently in her 4th season with Studio Northʼs elite competitive crew Northside, as well as a member of an all female Hiphop Crew Style & Grace. She is currently training at the Modus Operandi Post-Secondary program under the direction of Tiffany Tregarthen, David Raymond, Kate Franklin, and Maiko Miyauchi. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Gender, Sexuality and Womenʼs studies from SFU.
