BAROCCO RAVE
BAROCCO RAVE is composed of juxtaposing halves, continuing a compelling creative relationship between Wen Wei Dance (Canada) and Compagnia ADARTE (Italy).
BEAT ARMONICO
The idea that moves the work is the deepest invisible connection in between individuals. A deep emotional sensitivity that is written and expressed in the bodies of the dancers inspiring new worlds and new perceptions.
"I am not just a woman or just a man, I am at the same time many women and many men, many places, animals, cities, countries, families, memories, emotions, objects and people. I am talking about realities that I know, but also about unknown and unexplored worlds opening new landscapes to my own imagination and revealing new identities of the past, of the present and of the future”
—Francesca Lettieri (Compagnia ADARTE)
RE I BUILD I US
Created in collaboration with the dancers, RE | BUILD | US explores a complex set of emotions and experiences related to human relationships through physical movement.
“There is tension between the internal world and external triggers that lie beyond. When everything has burned to the ground, how do we choose to rebuild ourselves?”
—Wen Wei Wang (Wen Wei Dance)

Project Details
Wen Wei Wang incorporates workshops and master classes into touring destinations as a way to connect with the local dance community—helping build and strengthen the network of dancers in Canada—as well as bring awareness and appreciation for Canadian dance on an international level. These workshops and master classes typically take place leading up to a presentation and are open to anyone interested in dance. Classes explore various styles and forms including elements of Tai Chi, martial arts, Peking Opera and ballet technique. Through improvisation, dialogue and experiments with physical language, the breath of the rhythm and release technique will be the foundation for creating unique movements to express meanings through the body and mind. Given the style of class, it is recommended that participants have some background in dance. Additional collaborators at workshops often include one or more of the dancers who are available.
