Tablao Triana is proud to present Afroflamencas — an extraordinary evening of identity, heritage, resilience, and the powerful voices of Afro-descendant women in flamenco.
Four women. Four stories. One fire.
Four Afroflamencas on one stage — four artists whose artistry is an act of reclamation — of identity claimed, of belonging asserted, of strength made visible. Through dance, music, and expression rooted in lived truth, these four women honour the African heritage woven into flamenco's very soul, in a performance that is as powerful as it is deeply moving.

Tablao Triana is a curating arts organization with a focus on Flamenco. Our stage is a crossroads where past and present converge, bringing together generations of flamenco artists whose stories are told through music, rhythm, and dance.
We strive to create a space where our guests can fully experience the live art of flamenco, and where artists have the opportunity to share their passion for the art of flamenco.
To carry this vision forward, we curate every detail with intention ensuring that each moment reflects the passion, dedication, and legacy of flamenco.

General Technical Requirements: The performance requires a wood dance floor. The company provides a 9 foot by 9 foot portable dance floor.

Required amount of time for tech set up: 60 minutes which includes load in and sound check.
Alternative Venues: The work can been presented outdoors in parks, plazas and courtyards, on community stages, indoors in small intimate venues and indoor in theatres.
Outreach Activities
Intro to Flamenco - All Ages/Abilities (1-1.5 hour)
This class is tailored for anyone who wants to know more about flamenco but has never danced before. In this easy to follow class you will be introduced to the various elements of flamenco and will learn some basic steps and concepts such as hand and arm movement, hand clapping, body movements and low intensity footwork.
Guided Movement Exploration/Improv through Flamenco:
This workshop focuses on emotional themes in flamenco and provides a guided improvisation session that focuses on using flamenco elements such as hands, arm movements, clapping, body movement and percussive footwork as a base from where to explore themes of strength, loss, perseverance, hope and joy. No prior dance experience required and dance shoes are not necessary.
