Des voix dans mon corps - Voices in my body

Overwhelmed with things to do? Exhausted? Jealous of what others have? Experiencing love? Witness a slice of (your) life. Voices in My Body, created by MurMur collective, invites the audience to follow four characters as they animate different inner states that emerge through life experiences. A bilingual (French and English) outdoor dance and theatre performance, the work combines live interactive performance with linked audience headphones (“silent disco” technology). Passionate, tender, funny – Voices in My Body creates a unique window on the theatre of our inner life.

Myriam Verzat

MurMur

MurMur is a collective of four professional artists in dance-theatre that explore improvised and choreographed movement in public spaces. The collective is composed of Myriam Verzat, Tatiana Hassan, Mitch Miyagawa and Valerie Mermet. In 2021 and 2022 they produced and performed Lila, an interactive outdoor performance in downtown Nanaimo. Participants were invited to use silent disco headphones and be immersed in an innovative and touching dance-theatre experience. In 2023, MurMur also performed “The Circuit” at the Otherworld Festival, an acclaimed improvised piece where 11 dancing bodies were “murmuring” throughout the festival grounds dressed in full checkerboard body suits.
