Currently in mid-creation, this work is scheduled for a technical residency and presentation at the Yukon Arts Centre next September 2025.
The Way Of the Wind is about 3 women struggling with their own fears, frustrations and hardships. Throughout the piece they learn to share their stories, lean on each other, and ultimately harness their collective strength and power. WOW is about connection - and the care and conflict that comes with it. It is about community, teamwork, and matriarchy. WOW is about instigating change, about momentum in movement - both physical and societal - and lastly, about togetherness.
The work is created in collaboration with Yukon dance artists Grace Simpson-Fowler, Sadie Segriff, Valérie Herdes and includes music composed by Calla Paleczny and Evan Stepanian. In the summer of 2024, we completed the initial stage of development supported by the Cultural and Creative Career Advancement Fund (Yukon Government).
The reworked, full-length version of WOW will be presented at the Yukon Arts Centre in Whitehorse, Yukon in September 2025. This project includes the preparation of technical documentation and planning needed to be tour-ready.
