Join artists B's Dancing Roses, Linden Tsz Yin Choi, Ria Goel, Vidya Kotamraju, The Paul Tavai-Latta Polynesian Dancers & Co, Mia Pelayo and Puneet Singh, as they share brief performances of their work, plus a performance by Punit Singh (an alumni from Dance West Network's 2024 Re-centering/Margins Residency) who will also facilitate a public talkback with all of the artists. From Bollywood to Bharatanatyam, from Polynesian to improvisational contemporary dance, it is exciting to see this wonderful diversity of dance in the City of Surrey!

Quotes from Artists:

PUNEET SINGH
It was an incredible experience to perform at the Surrey Showcase. The event was beautifully organized, and it provided a meaningful platform to present my work as a Surrey-based artist. My performance video even received over 8,000 likes on Instagram, which was a wonderful response and helped extend the reach of my work. What stood out most was the audience’s reaction—they were truly engaged and amazed, especially as many were experiencing a male performer presenting such an ancient and classical dance form like Kathak for the first time. It was both rewarding and inspiring.

MIA PELAYO
Dance West Network's Dance in Surrey showcase gave me the opportunity to finally premiere my dance film 'Remnant' at the Surrey Art Gallery, the place I grew up competing in the Surrey Festival of Dance. This experience reminded me that a lot of exceptional dancers come from Surrey, but may have to go elsewhere to get the performance and presenting opportunities their work deserves. I appreciated Jane Gabriels' openness to showcase and celebrate an array of dance styles and mediums in this showcase.
