Tegvaran Sooch is a versatile artist from Surrey, BC, training in styles like Hip-Hop and KRUMP. Representing the “illest illusionz” crew, Teg has had the opportunity to compete in various local and out-of-town street dance tournaments, spanning cities such as Toronto, Calgary, Montreal, and Seattle. For Teg, dance is a way of storytelling and emotional expression. He draws inspiration from the energy of the people around him, movie characters, and anime. His artistic approach involves the fusion of experimental concepts with foundational elements in unconventional ways, resulting in distinctive and captivating movement.

In 'CHInTA Rose,'  Tegvaran unravels the fabric of his emotions and thoughts about his background, personifying his worries in a visceral dance experience. As he navigates through the performance space, the symbolism of his movements mirrors the relentless worries that consume him. "CHInTA Rose" offers a poignant exploration of Teg's inner tangles, inviting audiences to experience the rawness of Tegvaran's emotional journey.”

This project was developed through the Dance West Network Re-centering / Margins 2024 Residency and in subsequet perforamnces on Salt Spring Island, Dance Victoria, Prince George, MORROW Studio in Vancouver. The work was selected to be featured as part of the off-FTA, Festival TransAmerique showcase in Montreal, May 2025.
