Angela Cooper

Project Lead, Re-Centering/Margins creative residency

Angela Cooper graduated from Royals Roads University where she is pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communications. She is interested in Indigenous Perspective in Public Relations and Marketing. After completing her Diploma in Acting for Film and Television, Angela moved to Vancouver, and has flourished through reclaiming her culture through the arts. As an Indigenous Adoptee, she is interested in Indigenous women’s health, and connecting these messages to her career as performing artist. She has been represented by Premier Talent and works for Dance West Network as a supportive alumnus for emerging BIPOC artists.

From this experience, Angela hopes to consult for Indigenous entrepreneurs who seek professional support through PR and marketing strategies that honor their culture, perspective, and values. She believes healthy Indigenous representation honors empowered, culturally connected, Indigenous self -governance.

When she is not studying, she is exploring avenues to continue connecting to her culture. Currently, she is learning beading, Cree Indigenous dancing, and sewing Ribbon Skirts. She fills up on spending time with her puppy Scout, singing lessons and spending time in the outdoors with her partner.

She looks forward to spending more time in dance classes, travelling, exploring music, and connecting to her new arts community in Halifax.
