DADAO 2026-2027

Gabrielle Bertrand-Lehouillier

The French Larousse dictionary defines naivety as “the simplicity and innocence of someone who expresses their feelings naturally and with confidence.”

So where has your naivety gone?

Naïve. is a female perspective on the transition from childhood to adulthood in today’s society. A reflection on our anxieties regarding our professional and social performances, which rob us of simple happiness.

In a nostalgic and touching setting, you are invited to the park to reconnect with your emotional intelligence.

Province of the artist : Québec (Montréal)

With a background in classical piano, a double DEC in literature, cinema, drama, and dance, and a bachelor’s degree in contemporary dance from UQÀM, I am an artist who explores emotion and the movement that follows.

As a solo artist, I created and performed two pieces at Tangente danse in Montreal (Naïve, 2016; La Paix dans le Monde, 2017) that showcase my sensitive, intimate, and playful choreographic vocabulary. As a performer, I collaborate with Sarah Dell’Ava and Les Berceurs du temps, Compagnie de danse Axile, and Pirata Théâtre. I am also a choreographer-performer, member of the Collectif Danse To Go since 2014, with whom I explore the intimate relationship with the audience through the in situ performances « Danse de Marché » and « Corpocalyptique »

Because I firmly believe that art can change the world, I have also been working as a cultural worker since 2020 with Danse Bloom, Théâtre Aux Écuries, moveo, and La danse sur les routes du Québec.

As a complement to my artistic and cultural practice, I am interested in socio-ecological transition, writing, and the practice of Authentic Movement. I am convinced that beyond our various communities of thought, we first and foremost form a community of bodies and emotions.
