Les Précédents

Their unison catches our eye! They appear at the bend of a street, in the alley of a park, at the corner of a market stall. Their bodies melt into the scenery, then suddenly emerge, coming alive with a momentum that carries them through the public places that surround us. They are Les Précédents. In this ambulatory, outdoor choreography by Marie Béland, six performers activate specific movement instructions and game elements, alongside passersby. Responding to the surrounding environment, they are our rows of trees, our fountains, our stray dogs. Notice the threads they weave between architecture, dance and everyday life.

MARIBÉ

SORS DE CE CORPS

MARIBÉ - SORS DE CE CORPS bases its activities on creations that explore the way our bodies are transformed by figuring in a live art piece, whether or not they submit to its codes and conventions. By working on presence and performance, Marie Béland reflects, with the active participation of the performers, on the impact on the spectator of an image of the body oscillating between the everyday body, the "ordinary" movement, and its transformation into a living work of art. The show then acts as a revelator of these troubled zones, playing with truth, falsity and verisimilitude, juxtaposing our daily presence in the world and the scenic presence of a choreographed or choreographic body.
