Dance West Network: connecting artists and communities in motion connects BC-based dance artists with presenters in the province, the country and, increasingly, around the world. A provincial arts service organization, Dance West Network does not manage or represent any of the artists showcased.
Online showcase guide: Artists are listed in alphabetical order by last name; artists with companies are listed in alphabetical order by company name.
Unless noted otherwise, artists listed below create work on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded, and stolen territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), and the Tsleil-Waututh peoples.
Dance West Network ARTIST SHOWCASES Jan / Feb 2024(industry events)
Curated by Dance West Network, this year's annual showcase/pitch features over 35 dance and performance projects, and will be presented online as an industry event over the course of three 90 min gatherings on Jan 18, Feb 1, 8 & 15, 2024 from 2:00pm-3:30pm PST.
Each date will feature a different group of contemporary dance artists based in BC (listed below), and, for the first time, Dance West Network is also including several dance artists based in western Canada to support artists and organizations in neighbouring provinces.
These dance and performance projects are suited for Mainstage presentations, PLUS some of the dance artists have included digital accompaniments and performances that could also be presented out-of-doors and/or in settings beyond the theatre stage.
These works are available for presentation in 2024-26.
